Fitness and athletics have always been priorities and enjoyments in life for Marian. She has been sharing these passions with River Club members since 2005, when she taught the first fitness class at the club and began training members.
Before joining The River Club, Marian lived in The Netherlands where she coached sports and taught at The American International School of Rotterdam. When she and her husband moved to Atlanta, Marian was the Fitness Coordinator and Exercise Physiologist at Dekalb Medical Wellness Center. Along with The River Club, Marian currently teaches fitness classes and trains at the Atlanta Athletic Club.
Marian holds a degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and she has Personal Training and Group Exercise Certifications through AFAA/NASM. Marian is also certified to teach the following classes/specialties: Total Body Strength Training/Body Pump, Spin, Kickboxing, Boot Camp, Mat and Reformer Pilates, Speed, Agility and Quickness Training, Golf Fitness Specialist. In her fitness classes, Marian encourages her participants to bring out their “inner athlete” in a positive, team environment.
When personal training, Marian focuses on the specific goals of each member and help them safely achieve these fitness goals. Whether you are training for an athletic event or trying to improve total fitness, Marian can help you take your overall fitness and wellness to a higher level. In her time outside of teaching and training, Marian enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, running and visiting family in her hometown of Franklin in the North Carolina Mountains.
